William J. Shelby, M.P.A., is a Facilitative Mediator and Conflict Coach in Monterey County. He has conducted hundreds of mediations covering small claims, landlord/tenant, divorce, workplace, community, and interpersonal disputes.
Bill serves as the Court Mediation Coordinator for the Superior Court in Monterey County through the Mandell Gisnet Center for Conflict Management at the Monterey College of Law He is a mediator for the FAM Project at the Conflict Resolution Center of Santa Cruz (CRC), for Monterey Divorce Mediation, and the NEIGHBOR Project at MGC.
He was nominated for the United Way 2013 Community Service Award for his volunteer mediation services.
Bill has received a diversity of advanced Mediator and Coaching training from MGC, CRC, and Phoenix Strategies, Inc., in Colorado Springs, CO. He earned a graduate certificate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (S-CAR) at George Mason University, in Arlington, VA, which he used to augment a 10 year career supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the intelligence community, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of State. He has worked with foreign military and civilian leaders in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc to build stability and cooperation among neighboring countries in the region.
